Sixty Trees for Sixty Years

Wexford Credit Union has been at the heart of the Wexford community since its inception in 1962 and marks its 60th anniversary this year; to celebrate, we are running festivities throughout the year.

To show our commitment to the Wexford community was to plant sixty trees around the town. The trees are a gesture to celebrate each year of our growth and our continued support in the future. With the help of the Wexford County Council, we were able to approach 36 community groups and offer to cover the cost of trees planted in their area.

The response was fantastic, and the suggestion of the community groups to plant fruit trees so all the neighbours could benefit from the fruit was heartwarming. The community spirit is well and truly alive.

Hyland’s Nursery were hugely helpful in getting the fruit trees to the community groups and are a wealth of knowledge regarding plants.

We were delighted with the support from Wexford County Council and Hyland Nurseries to see our tree planting initiative come to fruition.
